Most product review sites rank whatever product generates the highest affiliate commission. We built BestStraightRazor.com to do the opposite — buy the razors ourselves, shave with them for weeks, and rank them honestly based on how they actually perform.
Yes, we earn a small commission when you buy through our Amazon links. That's how we fund the testing. But it doesn't change the rankings — a razor that performs badly gets ranked badly, regardless of its commission rate.
How We Test
Every razor in our rankings was purchased at retail price, just like you would buy it. No PR samples, no manufacturer loans.
Each razor gets a minimum of 2 weeks of daily use across face shaving, beard lineups, and neckline work.
Different skin types, different beard coarseness, different experience levels. One tester's experience is not enough.
Blade sharpness, build quality, blade security, shave comfort, value for money, and beginner suitability. Each scored 1–10.
